Sharla and Tim

Sharla contacted me about a month before her wedding in June after being referred by a mutual friend. The wedding that they had planned in England for the next month was not going to be possible due to COVID and so her and her fiance had decided to host a wedding here in Vancouver and livestream it to their family in England.

The wedding was to be held on a stage, and so she wanted florals to help brighten up and make a statement on an otherwise bleak stage. I of course was honoured to be a part of it! As you can see in the photos, they were able to celebrate with friends and family thanks to the wonders of technology.

This was probably my favourite arbour to date, with all the lush blooms that went into it. So more of these please! This june wedding was full of roses, sweet peas, agrostemma, asters, delphinium and so much more! I used many varieties of gorgeous flowers to add texture and depth to this gorgeous purple coloured wedding.

Thank you to Sharla and Tim for having me a part of such an important day!

Emma + Sean

Emma and Sean had a beautiful backyard elopement on July 1st, 2020. They decided to postpone their big ceremony, but opted for an elopement with their closest family.

For this wedding, I exclusively used flowers grown by Twigs Twisted with the exception of a few pansies from my own garden. I spent my Monday afternoon at Joanne of Twigs Twisted’s farm, handpicking the flowers for Emma and Sean’s wedding.

Laurel + Reid

I met Reid a number of years ago when I met his sister Sara, who was dating my brother in law. Fast forward a few years later and Sara and my brother in law got married, and Reid essentially became a part of the family as well (he was best friends with my brother in law). So when Reid and Laurel approached me about doing the flowers for their wedding, I was so excited!

As with all my couples this year, COVID changed their plans. So their original wedding planned for Nov 21st, got moved up to October 10th when the second wave of COVID hit and things weren’t looking good. Laurel called me at the end of September (2 weeks before the wedding) to ask if they could change the date, and thankfully I was available and said yes! It was a bit of a scramble, but I am so glad that everything came together in such a gorgeous day. Congratulations you two!

PS. My mother in law officiated the wedding!

Chelsea + Grant

Way back in February Joy of Sheer Joy Photography and I teamed up for a giveaway photoshoot for a couple. Due to COVID it was delayed until September of this year. Chelsea and Grant were so wonderful and flexible with all the changes and it was so great to provide the flowers for their photoshoot with Joy.

These photos were from Manning Park.

Flowers grown by River and Sea Flowers and me!

This year, mostly due to COVID I was able to grow some of my own flowers and it was so great to be able to use them in this photoshoot.
